We heaped a fair amount of praise on Logitech’s Harmony 1100 universal remote last April. Hope this saves someone else some time! It's a great remote once you get it set up, you can even program buttons on the remote to control everything on your xbox one. ITT: DO NOT REMOVE YOUR BATTERY WHEN USING USB TO CONNECT REMOTE TO PC (contrary to the instructions) ! The screen on the remote should show the usb logo when you hook it up to your pc. I decided to put the rechargable battery back in the remote and redo the set up and it worked great on my windows PC!

I tried my windows 10 laptop and had errors so i tried my El Capitan Mac and still had the same problem.

Harmony's web page said to take out the battery and plug in usb for power to the remote and if that didn't help go to device manager and find the usb device that had the exclamation mark and try to update the drivers. Every time i went through the setup my computer wouldn't recognize my remote. I spent about 4 hours yesterday trying to download the "LogitechHarmonyRemote_7.7.1-WIN-x86.exe" from Logitechs website and get my remote working.
